Good morning, good afternoon and/or good evening my friends, and welcome to episode #67 of the Foxx on the Wire Podcast!
Today one of our favorite guests Todd Burman from Nashville in the USA makes a huge return to the show to talk about and celebrate the 30th anniversary of one of our all-time favorite albums 'Temple of the Dog'. One of, if not the most important "Grunge" album. Do you agree? Let me know in the comments below.

During this episode Todd and I go into why that is. Check out the video version of this episode over on my Foxx on the Wire YouTube Channel. Temple of the Dog was conceived by Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell as a tribute to his friend, the late Andrew Wood from Mother Love Bone who died of a heroin overdose in March of 1990. The lineup included Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament (who also did the artwork for the album), Mike McCready and Matt Cameron (Soundgarden and later Pearl Jam) on drums. Eddie Vedder appeared as a guest to provide some lead and backing vocals.

Temple of the Dog was released on April 16, 1991 and initially sold 70,000 copies. By mid 1992 Grunge had already exploded. Soundgarden had released 'Badmotorfinger' and Pearl Jam blew up with their debut album 'Ten'.

I really hope you enjoy this episode if you are already a fan of this album and also if your not entirely familiar with this album I hope it makes you want to go and check it out. It holds a very special place in time and in the story of Grunge.
