Resident Evil 0

Ah, Resident Evil 0. Some love it, some hate it. I personally like it. It was the last of the classic RE games in that it was the last to have fixed camera angles and tank controls. Originally RE0 was in development for the Nintendo 64 following the very impressive port of Resident Evil 2 to that system. However, the limitations of the cartridge based console put an end to it soon afterwards. Fortunately, this was also around the time when the Gamecube was beginning development, so the project would be moved to that system.

Acting as a prologue for the first game and the series in general, RE0 follows S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team Medic Rebecca Chambers after she and her team crash in the Arklay Mountains en route to investigating the murders taking place there. Along the way, she encounters Billy Coen, an ex-Marine sentenced to death and the two form a tenuous alliance to escape the horror that they have stumbled upon.

Resident Evil 0 did do a few interesting things with the classic RE formula. You have two characters that you can swap between at will. Inventory management is alot harder in this game as both characters have only six item spaces each and some weapons take up two slots.
There are no item boxes, so you have the option to drop an item anywhere at anytime. Expect alot of back tracking in this game.
