Thousands of protesters gathered in Melbourne, Australia to protest the state's vaccine mandates and a proposed COVID-19 pandemic bill. The march started at the State Library and ended at the Parliament House.

"I am here today to fight for freedom and democracy. The bill that is being introduced at the Parliament is not democratic, it is the beginning of the end of our freedoms," said a protester at the rally.

Victoria’s proposed pandemic legislation aims to give the Premier authority to declare a pandemic among other things.

According to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, Australia has recorded a total number of 178,927 COVID cases and as many as 1,805 related death to date.

Die von Victoria vorgeschlagene Pandemiegesetzgebung soll dem Premierminister unter anderem die Befugnis geben, eine Pandemie auszurufen.

Die Demonstranten trugen aus Protest Schilder mit der Aufschrift "Kill the bill".

Nach Angaben der Johns Hopkins University hat Australien bisher insgesamt 178.927 COVID-Fälle und 1.805 damit verbundene Todesfälle verzeichnet.

La propuesta de legislación sobre pandemia de Victoria pretende dar al Primer Ministro autoridad para declarar una pandemia, entre otras cosas.

Los manifestantes llevaban pancartas que decían "Matar el proyecto de ley" en señal de protesta.
