The saffron harvesting season has brought vibrant colour to fields in Pampore, Jammu and Kashmir.

Footage from November 2 shows farmers picking the vibrant saffron flowers out of the ground.

Pampore is known as "Saffron Town" as it is one of the few places in the world where the flower grows.

The saffron industry was thrown into disarray early on during the pandemic as demand for the spice saw a dramatic decrease with the closure of restaurants and consumer spending being slashed.

According to local reports, this season's harvest is a particularly good one.
