Nintendo Wins Lawsuit Against Gary Bowser

Nintendo Wins Lawsuit Against Gary Bowser and will earn $4.5 million. In a recent report, Nintendo has won a major victory against a member of a hacking team Team-Xecuter who pleaded guilty for selling custom firmware that enabled piracy. In the recent years, Nintendo has been very aggressive against website that allow users to download ROMs based off of Nintendo’s popular IPs to emulate such as EmuParadise, including other websites and hackers that make it possible for users to emulate games that are available on the Nintendo Switch.

Team-Xecuter was responsible for the custom firmware known as SX OS, which was sold through a network of resellers. In result, Nintendo first went after those resellers, and won many cases, which eventually lead to Team-Xecuter, which ended up getting the United States Justice Department involved. Gary Bowser was arrested in the Dominic Republic and was sent back to the United States to face eleven felony counts, which also included both money laundering and wire fraud.

After the case was closed with Bowser pleading guilty, he will serve ten years in prison.
