VP Harris Claim Backfires: The Left in Full Meltdown
Last night, we saw a win for conservatives in Virginia. We told you how close it was, but ultimately Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin won the election. At the moment, New Jersey is still too close to call. Major news outlets normally don’t do national coverage over a state like New Jersey or Virginia, but Republicans are gaining control and the Left is panicking.
When President Biden was asked if his track record as President had any effect on former Democrat Governor Terry McAuliffe position in the polls before the election ended, he said:
"I don’t believe and I have not seen any evidence that whether or not I am doing well or poorly, whether or not I’ve got my agenda passed or not is going to have any real impact on winning or losing."
Clearly, it did have an impact. In a state that President Biden carried by 10 points, a Republican won. Vice President Kamala Harris indicated what this election means:
"Because you see what happens in Virginia, in large part will determine what happens in 2022, 2024, and on."
Hopefully, what happened in Virginia does determine what happens in the years to come. There are people who are not just voting on party lines anymore. That was evident in this election. ACLJ Director of Government Affairs Thann Bennett explained how Glenn Youngkin was able to win this election even in a soft blue state:
"That message was sent loud and clear by Virginia voters. . . . President Trump was happy to give Glenn Youngkin an endorsement. Glenn Youngkin was happy to accept it. I think that’s a normal thing; I think that’s a healthy thing. It did speak to Trump voters in the state of Virginia. But if you look at the campaign Glenn Youngkin ran, it does not look at all like the campaign that CNN suggested it was. It was optimistic by every account. It was winsome by every account. . . . Here is the thing that both Republicans and Democrats should take from it – it wasn’t politician centric . . . it was voter centric. Glenn Youngkin saw voters in his district very incredibly concerned about the education of their children and he spoke directly to that message. If both parties would start doing more of that, we would have a healthier system."
Another remarkable win in Virginia was Republican candidate Winsome Sears – born in Jamaica and a former marine – became Virginia’s new Lieutenant Governor paving the way as not only the first woman in general to hold that office in Virginia, but also the first woman of color. That is the American dream on display.
ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell discussed the election results:
"Look, I think it is all about parents. I think parents have been watching their kids in zoom school for a full year and they got an education on what’s been happening inside the schools. We know our kids are being taught to hate America and being taught that America is not a great place. And I think parents are really angry about it. So, the Biden overreach of the last several months and the Left’s inability to see they are ruining so many of the great policies that Trump was able to accomplish have really convinced the typical suburban voter that they need to vote Republican. They need to be able to have a say in their child’s education and the Left is not letting them do it."
Ric added:
"I also would add one thing is that for Terry McAuliffe . . . he really went all in in the anti-Trump message. He had Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama, he had all of the Democrat superstars coming in. And yet, the Virginia voters said I think that’s an overreach that the democratic message is not a good one for my family and for my kids. So, even in the face of all of the money and all of the big popular Democrats coming into the state, Virginia voters rejected what I would say is an overreach and an . . . embrace of wokeism. So, what we’re seeing is a rejection of that. And now a whole bunch of people across the U.S. are very nervous about being too close to the cancel culture, the woke culture, and to denying parent’s ability to get involved in their kid’s education."
Voters are starting to understand the importance of parents being involved in their children’s education. Hopefully this election is an indicator of what will come in the future and we will see more voters turn out and fight for issues that matter to their family.
