GoPro as well as many aftermarket manufacturers sell a myriad of mounting brackets for you GoPro camera. However, I have yet to find one that meets my standard for making the most of my camera while on the trail. So, I came up with my own.

Okay, I really didn’t make my own, I just figured out a way to use the standard mount that comes with your camera by attaching it to the top of a trekking pole. In my humble opinion, I think this is the best way to use the GoPro on the trail. You are welcome to try and change my mind, but it’s going to have to be pretty awesome.

This video demonstrates the way I prepare the top of your trekking pole handle to receive the GoPro flat bottom quick mount using an oscillating belt sander. I also provide verbal instructions on how to do this without the use of any power tools.
