Tourists to northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region recently had an opportunity to watch about 10,000 handsome horses galloping, hear them neighing on green grassland, and view their shiny hair.

In Zhaosu County of Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, locals are having their annual horse event, when they compete for their skills on the horse back.

"Today the weather is sunny and the Tianshan Mountains can be seen clearly. The 10,000 horses are galloping near the mountain. It's very fantastic," said Zheng Shuang, a tourist from Beijing.

"I've never seen such spectacular scene before. So exciting," said Cui Jiliang, a Shandong tourist.
