A cat has back ache

The lethargic cat was presented at Toa Payoh Vets as he had lost appetite.

During general examination, I noted that his back was hunched. Palpation of the spinal area from the neck to the tail revealed intense pain from the thoraco-lumbar area to parts of the lumbar area. The pain would have caused great discomfort and led to his loss of appetite.

Pain-killers resolved this cat's problem. Observations of the cat's appearance of a hunched back gave a clue as to what's the problem with the inappetant cat and led to a correct diagnosis.
