U.S. Marines Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific, conduct an active-shooter scenario for Constant Vigilance 2021 on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, Oct. 21, 2021. The exercise consisted of an active shooter injuring a casualty and then barricading himself into a building with two hostages. The Special Reaction Team and CID responded and negotiated with the barricaded suspect which led to getting the hostages out safe. Constant Vigilance is an island-wide force protection condition evaluation and crisis response to validate regional, installation, camp, and tenant antiterrorism and mission assurance plans and policies.
