Bowleggedness is commonly caused from muscle imbalances at the hip, specifically tight hamstrings, peroneus longus, gluteus maximus, and piriformis. To correct this imbalance, it is important that we train our hip flexors and lower back, while cantonizing this with stretches for these tight hip and leg muscles as mention above. Jogging and walking will help fire and create tone within the hip flexors and quads, however, It is recommended to start with these stretches and exercises to help encourage better alignment at the knee joint.
