La Flor Dominicana La Nox Petit La Nox Cigar Review

This 5x40 stick features a dark chocolate very firmly packed oily wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, double cap, slightly lumpy rustic roll and faint oily sweet earth aroma. First light reveals a snug draw but still puts out thick almost chewy medium bodied smoke with flavors of a smooth sweet bread and soft wood on the draw added to by a light sweet earth and kiss of pepper zing on the long finish. The first third keeps the same profile, still with a snug draw but burning quickly, holding a solid ash. 25 minutes in at the 1/2 way point, the burn slows, flavors shift dropping the bread in exchange for a deep leather, while the finish stays long bringing up the earth. Ending at 50 minutes where the nub got too hot for my taste, flavors from the band back went to a medium-full deep syrupy damp earth that lingered heavy on the finish taking over completely.
