Blade Runner - 'Day for Night' - DaVinci Resolve 17 color grade

I used DaVinci Resolve to modify a warmly-lit, golden-hour scene from Blade Runner to give it a darker, more neo-noir look. I also modified the soundtrack and edited the scene a bit to remove and replace two shots I didn’t like. Sacrilige!

This scene was pulled from the restored and enhanced “Final Cut” version of Blade Runner that was color graded on DaVinci Resolve by the industry-leading colorists Jill Bogdanowicz and Stephen Nakamura back in 2007 when they were at Technicolor – both are now Senior Colorists at Company3 in Santa Monica, California. They worked from 2K proxies of 4K scans of a 35mm lab-timed print from 2001 and were instrumental in helping Ridley Scott finally realize his vision of what the film should be.
