Primitive Bushcraft Survival Shelter - Bender - Full Build

I'm the son of a carpenter, so I thought building would come easy for me. It did not! I also watched every YouTube video I could find that showed how to build a bender bushcraft shelter. Naturally, I considered myself an expert. Wow, was I wrong! I thought I could build this entire shelter in two hours or less, but it actually took about eight hours of working as fast as I could. Now I know why every person that demonstrated how to build one of these shelters always stopped after they built the basic frame and said, "Ok, so it's just about done. Just throw some branches on it and you're good to go!" Not true! The basic frame is the easy part. It's everything else that is the hard part. All that being said I still had a great time building this primitive survival shelter. It's big enough for two people and all their gear. I'm looking forward to camping in it overnight on a rainy day to test it out and see if it actually keeps me dry. I also would like to continue to do improvements on the shelter. I'm thinking the first thing I need is a big fire pit and some log benches to sit on!
