New Easels and Sketch Boxes

After seeing reviews of magnetic easels, I decided to make some. Most of the materials I used were salvaged. I repurposed furniture and rushed to curb alerts ... and even did dumpster diving! haha One surprising material is the polycarbonate sheets from a greenhouse. Very lightweight and strong. I used FolkArt multipurpose paint that sticks to anything and is durable. The brush holder is used foam board covered with contact paper. I got the lights, magnets and hinges on ebay.
I live in a small apartment so I needed an easel with a small footprint, and to use vertical space. I also needed new travel sets.
I got an old bar stool for 5 bucks and removed the seat, fastened an office organizer on the footrest, and built the table and easel on top. Someone threw an office chair in the dumpster, so I used the wheel base! Now I was on the move!
Then I made a Paintbox style box for oils, a watercolor sketch box, and a versatile watercolor kit to fit in a small bag.
I hope these inspire you to make your own easels and that you get out and paint.
