Florida is stepping up to help with the nation’s supply chain crisis. With today’s Americans for Limited Government Minute, I’m Catherine Mortensen. Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that Florida Seaports have open capacity and can meet holiday demand, while other seaports across the country are struggling to keep up.

“In California, they just announced they are going to start operating their ports twenty-four seven. Our ports have always operated twenty-four seven, that should be happening anyways. And so, we in Florida, have the ability to help alleviate these log jams and help to ameliorate the problems with the supply chain and part of it is because we've long been committed to reliable modern and accessible port facilities.”

Since 2019, Florida has invested nearly $1 billion into its seaports to ensure there is capacity to serve as much cargo as possible. The state has also invested in infrastructure to make sure roadways are capable of handling the demand of today’s freight movements.
