Whatever Is Lovely

Our minds pick up on whatever is irritating, dangerous, could go wrong and embarrassing more quickly than whatever is right, joyful or lovely. The problem with "counting your blessings" is that you are not very likely to count what you don't even notice. Paul counsels us to dwell on whatever is lovely because these things point us towards love - that is the literal meaning of the world. If we are going to understand who God is, we have to see love in order to consider it's nature. Come, Dwell with us. The subject is "Lovely."
