Bringing attention to discriminatory policy at Lancaster Opera House
Bringing attention to discriminatory policy at Lancaster Opera House
Advocating for the disabled, especially during a time of turmoil is of the upmost importance.
Mandates and policies are threatening our "normal" way of life.
There once was a time when you could simply walk into a theater,
buy tickets and not have to worry about intrusion of medical privacy.
The current policy forbids unvaccinated guests from admission to the Lancaster Opera House.

LANCASTER OPERA HOUSE COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
Please take a moment to read through these protocols before you come to the theater. We hope you will understand that these precautions are in place for the safety and health of our patrons, employees, performers, and the wider community. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. COVID policies are subject to change.
DO I NEED TO BE VACCINATED TO ATTEND A PERFORMANCE?
Yes. All patrons, staff, and performers will need to be fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine in order to attend performances at the Lancaster Opera House. Furthermore, all patrons entering the theater must show proof of vaccination with their valid tickets. “Fully vaccinated” means the performance date you are attending must be:
At least 14 days after your second dose of the Pfizer-BioNtech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, or
At least 14 days after your single dose of Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen COVID-19 vaccine.
*Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a vaccinated adult and must wear a mask at all times.
At this time masks are required at all times during your visit, including while seated for the show.
WHAT PROOF OF VACCINATION DO I NEED?
Proof of vaccination must come directly from the healthcare provider that performed the vaccination.
New York State residents or anyone who received a COVID-19 vaccine in New York State should present proof through the use of the Excelsior Pass.
In addition to proof of vaccination, all guests must also be prepared to present a government-issued photo ID such as a driver’s license or passport.
***I AM NOT GETTING VACCINATED OR WILL NOT BE FULLY VACCINATED IN TIME. IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN ATTEND?
We are sorry, but unfortunately, you are not eligible to attend any Lancaster Opera House performances while this policy is in effect.
