he San Antonio 110 9/11 Memorial Climb is an event held on 9/11 to honor and pay tribute to our fallen heroes of 9/11. This year it was held at the NEISD Heroes Stadium instead of at the Tower of the Americas in downtown San Antonio Texas. Some really smart people realized that, putting hundreds of hot, sweaty, heavy breathing, people in the the Tower of the Americas stairwell, at the same time with COVID-19 still a danger, was probably not a great idea. The 2020 event was canceled last year in favor of smaller events around the region.

This year's change of venue made it easier to fly our drones and record the happenings to share with those who were unable to attend in person. Security was very tight, with all bags being searched upon entering the stadium, no coolers were allowed, only law enforcement officers could carry weapons and only one person was allowed to fly a drone inside the stadium.

This video is just a small portion of what was happening, but we think we captured a summary of the event in less than 5 minutes. The actual event started hours before sunrise and didn't end until around noon. Hundreds of volunteers helped organize the event and participants came from fire departments, police departments, military units and civilians of all walks of life and ages. The west side of the stadium bleachers was reserved for firefighters, police and military participants, while the east side was used by civilians who wanted to show their support. We'll put out another video later showing that side of the stadium when we have the time.
