A U.S. Coast Guard MH-65D Dolphin helicopter intercepts a Civil Air Patrol Cessna 182 general aviation aircraft over the National Capital Region during exercise Falcon Virgo 22-01, October 14, 2021. The North American Aerospace Defense Command Continental U.S. Region conducted Falcon Virgo 22-01, a routine live-fly air defense exercise, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. EDT. NORAD routinely conducts exercises with a variety of scenarios, including airspace violations, hijackings and response to unknown aircraft. All NORAD exercises are carefully planned and closely controlled. Falcon Virgo is a recurring exercise in support of Operation NOBLE EAGLE (ONE).
