Playful cat interrupts Buddhist monk while he is praying in Thailand

This is the adorable moment a playful cat interrupted a Buddhist monk while he was praying, on 6 October.

Footage shows the moggie tapping its paws on the chanting monk while he and other priests bless a shop in Prachin Buri province, Thailand.

The seven-year-old cat named Maruay even rubbed its face on his robes and persistently called the monk’s attention who eventually relented and gave it a quick pet on the head.

Pet owner Rattawan Niyomsuk said: ‘This cat is always curious about everything. Maybe it wanted to know what the monks were doing.’
