1996 Evinrude 60hp what caused the failure?

I had a call about an Evinrude to check out and do a compression test. Its a 1996 Evinrude 60hp electric trim motor on a 30 foot Pontoon boat. I decided to go over and do a house call since its a 30 footer. I discovered that the motor was seized up.

Once I knew it was seized I \went back a few days later to dissemble it and see what was causing the motot to be seized. I felt bad for this guy as he is renting a slip at one of the local marina's. He is a US Veteran and I have a soft spot for those guys.

So, I attempted to do what I can to get him back on the water. Next step is to either find hiim another powerhead or a useed engine to put on the pontoon boat.
