TOP 5 FUTURE CAR CONCEPTS - Phenomenal Developments
These top 5 luxury futuristic cars are absolutely mind blowing! Cars in this video:
Mercedes IAA - BMW Vision Next 100 - FFZERO1 - Rolls-Royce 103EX -Goodyear Eagle-360 Spherical Tires - Goodyear looks to reinvent the tire -
Wouldn’t omnidirectional, spherical tires be awesome? They’d allow slide-in parallel parking with millimeters to spare, zero-yaw lane changes, and pivot-in-place U-turns.
Here’s Goodyear’s vision: Because there’s no place to put a Schrader valve and no easy way to access it, the tires are airless. Some type of foam—the company is cagey about its composition—would permit the deflection required to achieve a useful contact patch. At the center is a smaller rigid graphene sphere that houses an array of powerful permanent magnets. These magnets are used to levitate the bodywork above the tires. They’re also used to provide acceleration, braking, and turning in response to powerful electromagnetic windings in the wheel housings surrounding these spheres. Frictionless drive—another plus!
Rolls-Royce is a brand that's steeped in history and tradition, but not so much that it would prevent the company from looking forward into the future. With the introduction of the VISION NEXT 100 in London on Thursday, Rolls has done just that. Also known under the code name 103EX, the concept is the embodiment of what Rolls-Royce believes its customers will require in the next century.
"With the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 we were mindful not to dwell on the past. We wanted to be as innovative as possible and at the same time transcend the design history of the marque," Rolls-Royce Motor Cars design director Giles Taylor said in a statement.
The 103EX is also a part of parent company BMW's centenary celebration that kicked off earlier this year with the introduction of the BMW VISION NEXT 100 concept.
According to Rolls-Royce, the 103EX is designed to fulfill four tenets of that epitomize the future of luxury mobility. First, the car must be a reflection of the owner's person taste and vision. Second, the car must offer an effortless ride. Third, the car should serve as a grand sanctuary from the outside world for the occupant. And lastly, the car should allow the owner to make a grand entry.
The 103EX certainly would do that.

► Mercedes-Benz IAA concept revealed
► Stands for Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile
► Extending bodywork for ultra-low drag
Mercedes has revealed the radical Concept IAA (Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile) at the Frankfurt motor show. A sleek CLS-like saloon with a 279bhp plug-in petrol/electric drivetrain, the concept features active aerodynamics to improve the drag co-efficient from Cd 0.25 to Cd 0.19. To put that in perspective, the Mercedes CLA was the world’s most slippery production car when it launched in 2013, with a drag co-efficient of Cd 0.22.
Incidentally, IAA is also the official name of the Frankfurt motor show, standing for Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (International Automobile Exhibition). It’s almost like they planned it...
At the front of Concept IAA, flaps behind the grille close to improve airflow when none is needed to feed the radiator – already seen on other Mercedes production cars – while the lower carbonfibre front splitter retracts; at low speeds the splitter plays a part in pedestrian protection, but as speeds rise, so the splitter retracts to help under-car airflow. Gills at the side of the front bumper also adjust, moving 25mm out and 20mm further back to reduce turbulence around the wheel arches.
The incredible shape-shifting Mercedes-Benz IAA
The 22-inch wheels (with comparatively narrow 235-section Continentals) are a futuristic, colander-like design, and also feed in to the active-aero melting pot. Featuring a deep 55mm dish at lower speeds and a gap around the perimeter to channel cooling air into the brakes, centrifugal forces gradually cause the dish to become entirely flat by 50mph, again improving aerodynamics.
Faraday Future FFZero1 is a 1,000hp 'extreme tablet on wheels'
It's a 1,000-horsepower, all-wheel drive hypercar with room for one hypothetical driver who sits nestled in the center of a carbon fiber cocoon, surrounded by a cockpit that looks straight out of some utopian vision for the future. The dashboard uses what designer Kim calls the company's "propeller IP," a shape that extends over the drivers' shoulder and twists around to become an instrument cluster.
