Central Illinois, Springfield area under tornado warning.
Three tornadoes were confirmed in central Illinois, including one two miles north of Alexander in Morgan County near the Sangamon County line Monday afternoon.
Two other tornadoes briefly touched down in Greene County, National Weather Service meteorologist Chuck Schaffer said.
It is the start of a soggy week in the Springfield area.

The NWS is calling for showers Wednesday through Friday, with a chance of thunderstorms Wednesday morning and later Wednesday evening.
The storms aren't expected to be severe, however.
Upticks of severe weather in the fall aren't out of the ordinary.
Schaffer called the window "a second peak," though the weather events aren't as numerous in the spring and early summer.
A tornado warning extended into Sangamon County on Monday.
There were no confirmed touchdowns in the county, Schaffer said.
