Special Counsel Announces Updates in Election Investigation

Special Counsel Mike Gableman announces that the Office of Special Counsel has issued subpoenas to mayors and clerks in several cities.

Gableman expresses both his hope that the cities will cooperate fully, as well as his disappointment in recent remarks by Gov. Tony Evers, who advised city clerks to "lawyer up" instead of cooperating in good faith. Gableman also clarifies that the investigation is not an adversarial process, and that those who are compelled to respond to the subpoenas are granted immunity under Wisconsin law.
