"A protest against the planned eviction of the squatted trailer camp at the iconic 'Kopi' takes place in Berlin on Saturday, October 9.

Protesters are taking the streets six days before the eviction date (October 15) and on the day of the first anniversary of another house project eviction, the so-called Liebig34 anarchist-queer-feminist collective.

Located at 137 Kopenicker street in the city centre, Kopi is one of the last remaining symbol projects of the radical left scene of Berlin.

The building on the strip of the Wall in East Berlin was occupied in 1990 and legalised a year later as an autonomous housing project.

In June, the Berlin district court ordered the evacuation of the trailer camp. The building itself is not affected by the eviction.​

"Am Samstag, den 9. Oktober, findet in Berlin eine Demonstration gegen die geplante Räumung des besetzten Wohnwagencamps am kultigen 'Kopi' statt.

Die Demonstranten gehen sechs Tage vor dem Räumungstermin (15. Oktober) und am ersten Jahrestag der Räumung eines anderen Hausprojekts auf die Straße, des sogenannten anarchistisch-queer-feministischen Kollektivs Liebig34.

Das Kopi in der Kopenicker Straße 137 im Stadtzentrum ist eines der letzten verbliebenen Symbolprojekte der linksradikalen Szene Berlins.

Das Gebäude auf dem Mauerstreifen in Ost-Berlin wurde 1990 besetzt und ein Jahr später als autonomes Wohnprojekt legalisiert.

Im Juni ordnete das Berliner Landgericht die Räumung des Wohnwagenlagers an. Das Gebäude selbst ist von der Räumung nicht betroffen.
