In this video, we’re going to talk about intermittent fasting and your thyroid.

Data shows that going on a low-calorie diet can cause thyroid issues. Intermittent fasting doesn’t limit your calories. Intermittent fasting is about eliminating snacks and small meals throughout the day. Instead, you want to have 1-2 large meals within a short timeframe.

There are a couple of things I want to highlight. First, you need to get plenty of selenium in your diet if you have a hypothyroid situation. Selenium is one of the primary thyroid-supporting nutrients.

Next, I want to mention that the best natural source of iodine is sea kelp. You want Icelandic sea kelp is an incredible nutrient-dense supplement.

Additionally, cruciferous vegetables may cause problems in someone who has thyroid issues. Adding more sea kelp may help negate some of those effects.

Vitamin A and D are also crucial for supporting a healthy thyroid.

Finally, I want to remind you that intermittent fasting—if done correctly—can support a healthy thyroid by boosting the conversion of T4 to T3.

In summary, if you’re doing intermittent fasting correctly, it shouldn’t cause more thyroid issues. In fact, it can help support a healthy thyroid.
