Monkeys are high socially animals. They hug because it feels good Not just because of practical reasons. Mother Nature gave them this kind of emotional feeling to strengthen social alliances. Incidentally, that is the only reason why we humans feel. it is not spiritual but has advantages for us humans like for every other living being to survive
