Kingston's Arthur Milnes is an award-winning journalist and public historian. His 13 books include studies of Prime Ministers R.B. Bennett, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Sir John A. Macdonald, Arthur Meighen, Brian Mulroney and John Turner. His other volumes include studies of US Presidents George H.W. Bush, Jimmy Carter, and Franklin Roosevelt, all from a Canadian perspective. He served for five years as the Rt. Hon. Brian Mulroney's Memoirs' assistant and as a speechwriter to then Prime Minister Stephen J. Harper. Arthur is now the in-house historian at the Frontenac Club Hotel in Kingston and is the author of a daily political history post, "Art's History" for National Newswatch. He pioneered the now famous political history walks of downtown Kingston. Those interested in attending his walks this spring or summer should contact Art via Facebook.
