Rates of erosion are known and the earth's crust above sea level should be eroded flat within 10 million years at present rates of erosion. Even if the crust is rising in some areas, there are sedimentary layers reputed to be hundreds of millions of years lying on top. This is not compatible with the current theories of earth history.
