SERMON NOTES

We Are Alive: In Our Unity!!
Acts 2:42-47
'And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.'

I. Commitment To The Scriptures! (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
• Good Morning! I am so glad that you are here with us today!!
• In our text today, we are looking at the early church.
• We are examining some of the monumental things that showcased how and why they were deemed “Alive!”
• As we look at the beginning of the chapter, we see that there is a “God Inspired Moment” that takes place.
• Expound on this event and why this is important!
• And we see that there is a response to this dynamic God moment.
• Explain why the response is important!

II. By Staying Connected To Christ (John 15:1-5)
• As we continue in our text, we see that they were committed not just the scriptures and teachings, but to each other.
• It is an awesome thing when a church truly loves to be around one another.
• It is also telling when a church can’t stand each other and is not committed to one another.
• Expound on John 17.
• Hear what Jesus says in (John 15:1-5).
• We are called to remember that Jesus is the vine, the glue that holds us together.
• When we decide that we can do it all by ourselves, we are then removing ourselves from the life-giving vine!
• Expound upon this!

III. See What God Can Do!
• As we come to the end of our text today, we see that God adds to their numbers daily.
• This is what happens when we are willing to let God lead and do what He wants to do.
• When a church is dead, they are not really looking to God for their answers.
• If you are wanting to change the way that you are going, then I have one thing to tell you. Choose Jesus Today!
