Hoyo de Monterrey 150 Edition Cigar Review

This soft box pressed 6x54 stick features a dark chocolate mottled wrapper with minimal veins, tight seams, large sloppy double cap, dense pack, oily satin feel and pungent pepper and barnyard aroma. First light reveals a snug draw with minimal medium bodied smoke output showing flavors of a smooth cocoa and soft earth followed by a good bit of pepper buildup on a short finish. The first third quickly opens the draw to a normal resistance holding the same profile just extending the finish to the next draw. 35 minutes in nearing the 1/2 way point, flavors change very little adding a touch of coffee to the draw. Ending at 1:10 the last third went to a deeper smooth plain earth and hint of nutmeg while the finish dropped the pepper continuing the same earth to the next draw.
