Good Shepherd Sunday Homily

Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for His sheep, and never leaves His flock untended. The biblical and historical imagery of the shepherds of Israel. Our Lord warns us to beware of false shepherds who would lead His flock astray through the teaching of error, the thieves and robbers who would try to steal the sheep, and the hirelings (the cowards) who flee at the approach of the wolves who threaten the flock. How we can differentiate between the true shepherds of His flock and the false ones who try to mislead and destroy the faithful through heresy and culpable silence in the face of sin and evil.
