Body Positivity
In this video we discuss what body positivity means to us and a few ways we honor our bodies.
As mentioned in the video, here is Jaclyn's list of ways she honors her body:
1) Listening to my body and asking what it needs every day (developing a healthy connection and voice that responds to my questions).
2) Daily affirmations and gratitude honoring the physical appearance and internal workings.
3) Drinking 2-3 liters of water everyday.
4) Taking my vitamins and supplements to boost my immunity and protection.
5) Eating foods preferable to my body that are easily digested and enjoyable.
6) Taking care of my skin through a skin-care regime.
7) Moving my energy in meditation/spiritual practice.
8) Fresh air and sunshine.
9) Exercise and stretching, moving my body.
10) Sleeping and resting when necessary.
11) Avoiding toxic substances in food, water, products, etc.
12) Enjoying treats and substances in moderation and taking stock when I have overdone something (i.e too much food, too much alcohol).
13) Making changes that will benefit my body for improved function and quality of life.
14) Not comparing my body to anyone else, as I uniquely created this body for me in this experience.
15) Taking stock of pain and instead of just medicating it, reflect on where it is in my body and what it’s telling me.
16) Engaging in activities my body enjoys.
17) Treating my body with dignity and respect.
18) Taking pride in my appearance and buying myself things to adorn by body (jewelry, clothes, accessories).
19) Understanding my body is a source of powerful technology that has the capacity for limitless abilities, potential, and self-healing.
20) Acknowledge my body’s accomplishments, no matter how big or small. Do not worry about other people’s bodies or if they can’t do something you can. You are ALLOWED to praise yourself.
