SERMON NOTES

Are We Dead? If We Deny Christ!
(I John 2:18-23)

'Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.'

I. When We Don’t Know His Voice (John 10:16)
• Good Morning! I am so glad that you are here with us today!
• We are continuing in our sermon series Dead or Alive: Which church are we?
• In our text today, the Apostle John is talking about a topic that is very serious!
• This is one that many people don’t think can really be a problem, but oh it most definitely can be.
• John starts off with addressing the church with a greeting of familiarity. It is one that has a serious implication.
• Expound on what the title of “Little Children” means.
• Listen to (John 10:14-16). Expound on this.

II. When We Put Things In Front Of Christ! (I John 1:6.8,10)
• As we continue in our text today, we see that John addresses the presence and existence of the Antichrist(s).
• In our text (v.19) he references the fact that there are some that have gone out from among us. But they have not continued with us.
• Church there are many people that are going out and they are spreading lies in Jesus’ name.
• This is very dangerous. The church today has gotten a bad name because there are things going on that are not “Of God!”
• But more than the people, we must talk about the things that are taking the place of Christ!
• Idols! Fake gods! Expound on this!
• Anything that we are putting in front of spending that quality time with God and being used by Him for His purposes…Antichrists.
• Listen to (I John 4:7-8),

III. How Do We Change This? (Rev. 3:20)
• As we close our text today, we understand the severity of the situation.
• We need to decide today!
• After hearing this today, if we are happy with the state in which we are now, then there is a big problem.
• But if after hearing this we have decided to choose Jesus today, then hear (Rev. 3:20)
