Spain: Massive "botellon" open-air party in Barcelona ends in clashes - 26.09.2021

A massive gathering of around 30,000 people partying with music and alcohol, also known as a 'botellon,' took place at Bogatell beach and ended with clashes early on Sunday morning in Barcelona.
The partying got out of hand when, according to local media, the attendees looted several restaurants, burned motorcycles, hurled public transit signs into a large fire and threw bottles at the police.
Local reports stated that 30 people were arrested, and 39 were injured.
Police vehicles were seen arriving to disperse the crowd while firefighters extinguished several fires throughout the coastal road.
Large meetings mostly made up of teenagers were a tradition in the area but have been prohibited during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eine große Versammlung von rund 30 000 Menschen, die mit Musik und Alkohol feierten, auch bekannt als "botellon", fand am Strand von Bogatell statt und endete am frühen Sonntagmorgen in Barcelona mit Zusammenstößen.
Die Feierlichkeiten gerieten außer Kontrolle, als die Teilnehmer nach Angaben lokaler Medien mehrere Restaurants plünderten, Motorräder verbrannten, Schilder des öffentlichen Nahverkehrs in ein großes Feuer warfen und die Polizei mit Flaschen bewarfen.
Lokalen Berichten zufolge wurden 30 Personen verhaftet und 39 verletzt.
Polizeifahrzeuge rückten an, um die Menge zu zerstreuen, während Feuerwehrleute mehrere Brände in der Küstenstraße löschten.
Große Versammlungen, an denen hauptsächlich Jugendliche teilnahmen, waren in der Gegend Tradition, wurden aber während der COVID-19-Pandemie verboten.

La fiesta se les fue de las manos cuando, según los medios locales, los asistentes saquearon varios restaurantes, quemaron motocicletas, lanzaron carteles de transporte público a una gran hoguera y lanzaron botellas a la policía.
