The House of Living Worship; 1Pet. 2:4-6

Delivered during the Sunday evening worship service, 08/04/2019. As Peter continues to call his readers to a life of holiness and discipleship, he launches into a section where he will lean heavily on the imagery and prophecies of the Old Testament. Through this he will make a sharp distinction between the Old Testament shadows and the New Testament reality concerning the temple of worship, the priests of worship, and the sacrifices of worship. We will carefully analyze these three areas of New Covenant worship and how they are brilliantly realized in Christ and those who will follow Him. Ultimately we will trace the progression of true worship from Mount Sinai to Pentecost and discover how at long last God is worshiped as He should be: in Spirit and Truth in the house of living worship.
