This is a short segment taken from an hour long interview with Stephen Crowder here: https://youtu.be/HVeEBdqioB8?t=2880

Peterson talks about how true science can not prove anything. Science must not be used to dictate policy. Anyone using it that way is ideologically driven and trying to use "science" to force you to do something you probably don't want to do.

"'While people will often say that science "proves" something, you must understand that it does not. Science is built on the scientific method, which is not a method by which things are proven. It is a method by which evidence is accumulated. The more evidence that accumulates in favor of a theory or law, the more confidence you can have in that theory or law. However, theories and laws cannot be proven, because the evidence used to confirm them might be flawed or incomplete. This is important enough to emphasize again. Science cannot prove anything.

When it comes to science, even the most treasured scientific laws and theories might be shown to be wrong. As a result, science is a tentative process. All good scientists must be willing to discard or modify even the most well-accepted theory or law, if new data demonstrates that there is something wrong with it.

If you are using a scientific hypothesis or theory to make predictions, you will have to test those predictions to see if they are true."
