Vivek Ramaswamy argues that big tech is actively coordinating with the government in its censorship activities, and thus must be held to the same standard as the federal government—namely held liable by the First Amendment. He argues: "When the private actors are in bed with the government, doing the bidding of the government, censoring content that government does not want to see, taking orders and threats from them—and by the way, is immunized by the government by this special statute called Section 230—then, in that case, you can't have it both ways." They must either operate as a private company or be held to the "same constraints as the federal government itself. They have to be bound by the First Amendment of the Constitution," Ramaswamy says.

Ramaswamy also argues that many Republicans have fallen into a trap by trying to use antitrust law to police big tech. Even if the tech giants are all broken up into small companies, they would adhere to the same ideological dogma. The most dangerous monopoly of all "is not a monopoly of products. It is a monopoly of ideas," Ramaswamy says.
