Emotional homecoming after Cockatoo has been away for a year

My cousin has Bella for a year. She brought her home yesterday. When Christy got her out of the truck she was saying that Bella needs her wings clipped and nails done. About that time Bella flew into her favorite tree. After not free fling for a year , she hadn’t forgotten how to fly but she was rusty on maneuvering and landing. She tried to fly to me several times but just couldn’t stop. She finally was able to land on her beloved porch railing. I did trim her wings and nails last night. I don’t mind her being able to fly but I want her to get used to using those wings again. I’m very lucky with Bella. She is a very well adjusted bird. There isn’t much adjustment time when she changes homes. She love Christy and I . She gets more one on one attention with Christy but she loves me and her freedom here at the farm.
