Point 10 Public Health Order 8.27.2021

Item #10 states there have been 490 pediatric deaths of Covid in the US. My own research indicates that the CDC reported 470 pediatric deaths aged 0-18 from January 4, 2020 to September 1, 2021.

Using the CDC wonder search database I was able to go back and look at 5 years of pediatric mortality involving influenza /pneumonia, (which has combined coding in the CDC system). This is what I found in the five years prior to Covid.. According to CDC data more children died of the flu in any 12 month period in the last five years then have died of Covid-19 during the last 20 months. Again, the CDC has reported 470 children died of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic, but 628 children died of the flu in 2019. 666 died of the flu in 2018, 598 in 2017… Why is the health department pushing such extreme control measures on kids when Covid-19 is less deadly to children then the seasonal flu? Has the seasonal flu simply been rebranded and hyped up as Covid-19?

Interestingly, no statistics are available to the public in the CDC wonder search database beyond 2019. Something I was able to find however from the CDC, that included 2020 was a chart showing influenza-associated pediatric mortality going back 4 years. Shockingly it shows one adolescent death of influenza for the entire year of 2020. Should we be shaking in fear of Covid or celebrating in the streets that the seasonal flu has mysteriously disappeared?
