Point 7 Public Health Order 8.27.2021

As the NW Michigan Health Department has indicated that social distancing of six feet is an effective curtail to the transmission of SARS-CoV-2, they ought to provide verifiable studies and data that this method of self distancing can indeed prevent a virus from spreading throughout indoor air spaces.

Without sufficient, compelling evidence that each student can be insulated from Covid by an air space diameter of 6 feet, public schools, students, and their parents should not be required to follow this recommendation.
While reading through this Health order from August 27, it becomes apparent that it is a poorly written, repetitive jumble of weak-minded, unscientific ideas that become health fantasies when attempted to be put into practical application.

Where are the directions for controlling SARS-CoV-2 transmission by social distancing? How many children will fit into a schoolroom where they must maintain a distance of 6 feet? Who has decided the limit per room? Do teachers need to keep their students at this distance when assisting with individual assignments? How is social distancing efficiently applied on the school buses and in the locker room and lunch lines?

As these orders are rather vague and lacking in concise guidance, it is to be assumed that the duty of their implementation is left to the discretion of the school boards. If then the School Boards are to be left to their own devices in employing the Health Department’s recommendations, why can not the School Boards also be left to decide what is best for their own schools? This would, of course, allow the parents/guardians of the students to have some say in how their own children are to navigate SARS-CoV-2. And that is where all medical and health decision should be left, in the hands of those who love these
students the most, the parents.

No Health Board holds the right to override the parental authority of responsible, hardworking American citizens. If you can convince us with data that Social Distancing is a benefit to our children’s well being, we might be persuade to examine the possibility. But in reality, we all know it is nothing but nonsense and we will not be ordered to submit our children not our tax dollars to this anymore.
