Point 4 Public Health Order 8.27.2021

We agree with your statement in point #4 that humans emit respiratory fluids, we’ve been doing that for thousands of years. The only way to keep humans from exchanging respiratory and other bodily fluids is by complete isolation from one another or by death itself. To make the assumption however that a cloth or surgical mask could somehow prevent the spread of disease in children is completely misleading.

First of all, commonly available adult surgical masks do not fit children properly. Nor will children keep from fiddling with them throughout the day. These masks quickly become saturated with bodily fluids such as snot, saliva, and food debris. These substances contaminate the masks and the mask become a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses, potentially increasing the concentration of transmissible disease held tightly against a child’s face. It is unnatural to expect children to be responsible for keeping a mask free from contamination for 8 hours a day.

This mask mandate is actually a form of child abuse and according to the revised school code act 451 of 1976, anyone who mandates or participates in forcing children to wear masks in school is guilty of breaking the law.

Section 1307 B states that the following practices are prohibited for school personnel within the public schools of the State of Michigan under all circumstance, INCLUDING EMERGENCY SITUATIONS: Specifically (B) the deprivation of basic needs and (H) Any restraint that negatively impacts breathing.

The masks are clearly a restraint that negatively impacts breathing. You crossed the line when you tried to push this on our children and if you do not rescind this mandate immediately, expect civil and criminal charges to be filed against you and your department.
