Environmental Health Specialties

John is a Registered Sanitarian with 36-years-experience in Environmental Health and disease prevention. He earned is Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science from Lamar University in December 1984. He gained a broad experience background over the next 15-years working as an Environmental Health Specialist for the City of Baytown Environmental Health Department under the tutelage of Howard Brister.

In December of 1999, he registered his DBA of Environmental Health Specialties. Incorporated in 2014, EHS, Inc. focuses on environmental protection and disease prevention in the fields of on-site sewage treatment, and pest management. John is licensed in General Pest and Termite Control by the Texas Department of Agriculture. As a Registered Sanitarian (#2307), he designs On Site Sewage Facilities, and is a registered Site Evaluator, Installer II and Maintenance Provider with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. He also has provided food sanitation and indoor air quality, health and sanitation inspection and consultation services for residences and businesses, and provides health and sanitation inspection services for Day Cares and Foster Homes.

John has served as president of the Gulf Coast Chapters of the Texas Environmental Health Association Gulf Coast Chapter, and Texas Onsite Wastewater Association.
John is currently the President-Elect of the Texas Environmental Health Association and will assume the role of President October 2021-22.

John sometimes acts at a local community theater.

John is a tree-hugging environmental nut.
