BODYCAM: Suspect Attempts To Run Over 2 Cleveland Police Officers

Cleveland, Ohio -- Officers with the Cleveland Division of Police (CPD) were flagged down for reports of a male passed out in a vehicle. More officers arrived on scene they attempted to wake the suspect .

According to the report, the suspect appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The suspect then sprung awake and unlocked the doors.

When an officer opened the door, the suspect sped in reverse and "moved" the officer to the ground. Suspect then struck a patrol car, then put the car in drive and "moved" another officer.

The suspect then fled the area. A CPD chopper and multiple other agencies were called to help search for the suspect.

Eventually the suspect was taken into custody after a short chase and some "assistance" from officers to be removed from the car.

Multiple "boom-boom sticks" were found inside the vehicle as well as some "questionable" substances.

The suspect, later identified as Mr. Shannon Halstead of Cleveland, was INDICTED with the following:
- Felonious assault (x4)
- Failure to Comply with the Order or Signal of a Police Officer (x1) [fleeing]
- Obstructing Official Business (x1)
- Having Weapons While Under Disability (x1)
- Trafficking Offense (x3)
- Drug Possession (x3)
- Possessing Criminal Tools (x1)
- Improperly Handling a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle (x2)
