Carol Rabalais and her elder sister Patricia Tate exchanged harsh words during the summer when Ms. Rabalais mistakenly booked some standby plane tickets instead of reserved ones for a family vacation to their native Jamaica. But by the next day, Ms. Rabalais was her usual sunny self, the standby upset seemingly forgotten.
