Central Oregon - Three Sisters Wilderness - Little Three Creek Lake - FULL
My goal of these wilderness trail videos is to 1) show reverence for the beauty of the land, and 2) give YOU actionable trail information that can assist you in planning your own hike here.
This was a day-hike in Central Oregon, Three Sisters Wilderness, starting at Little Three Creek Lake Trailhead (this video is the FULL video of Little Three Creek Lake Trail), and adding a second, longer hike that is based from the same parking lot to Tam McArthur Rim Trail (I have several other videos showing this trail posted here on Rumble). Please note if you only do the Little Three Creek Lake Trail a PERMIT IS NOT REQUIRED, but if you do a two-fer hike like I did and add Tam McArthur Rim Trail a permit is required for that trail from Recreation.gov, since both hikes are based from the same parking lot I personally like to combine them. If you do just the Little Three Creek Trail, it is 2.6 miles roundtrip to just the edge of the lake, add another mile to walk around the lake so 3.6 miles roundtrip, and if you want to get the full experience of the area and walk behind and above Little Three Creek Lake as well as to the West of it over to a hidden lake with a backcountry camping area, you are looking at approximately 5 miles roundtrip including the full exploration. If you add the Tam McArthur Rim trail to just the Viewpoint you add another 5 miles total for a grand total of 10 miles for the day, and if you go above the Viewpoint to Broken Hand add 9.4 miles total so 14.4 miles roundtrip for the two hikes which is what I did. Weather was low of 35 degrees, high of 61 degrees, blue sky day. This was hiked on 8/20/2021, trail was completely clear of snow, and there were NO Mosquitoes! On Alltrails this hike is called "Little Three Creek Lake Trail". As far as road conditions, the last few miles of the road has gravel, is bumpy, and is a little washboarded in a few sections. Definitely not the worst forest road I've ever driven on, in my opinion the road DOES NOT require 4-Wheel Drive, just drive cautiously and be prepared for a little bumpiness.
