20210907 What's the Rush - The Daily Summation

Perhaps one of the worst expressions I've seen on a t-shirt, can be summed up in a SINGLE WORD.

What word? "Hustle?"

That expression is used to indicate people moving quickly to get things done.

Wait! Isn't that a good thing?

More often than not, the simple, one word answer to that question is, "No."

When you rush to finish things, you ALMOST INVARIABLY end up creating as many problems as you solve--and some are even worse than the issues you were working to fix.

I see it on the roadways, in the workplace, and on supermarket shelves.

The results of people trying to do something in substantially less time than should be taken.

Besides everything else, it also reduces the quality of the practitioner's life--not to mention that of those around them.

That idea is what caused me to choose to speak today on "What's the Rush" on this edition of The Daily Summation from Kurt's Religion and Politics.

When I'm able to complete the companion article on the Kurt's Religion and Politics blog, I'll post a link to it here.
