New York City teens who get vaccinated against COVID-19 at three specific sites in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx will get an exclusive, limited-edition Avengers comic books, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Wednesday.

Marvel Comics has teamed up with SOMOS Community Care, a five boroughs-based health care network, to offer the incentive at 20 Times Square in Manhattan, Maria Hernandez Park in Brooklyn and at 368 E. 149th St. in the Bronx, de Blasio said at his daily briefing.
“It’s come to my attention that younger New Yorkers do not watch my morning briefings. I was shocked by this information,” he joked. “So we decided we’d better get some help. We reached out to Marvel.”

“Starting this week, kids can get an exclusive, exclusive issue of the Avengers when they get vaccinated,” he said. “That’s a really cool incentive.”

New Yorkers ages 12 and up will be able to snag a copy of the comic if they get their shots at one of the three SOMOS sites, de Blasio said.
