Maine Coon Cat VS. Persian Cat

The amiable and good-natured Maine Coon fits in well with a variety of lifestyles and personalities. They enjoy being near humans and have a propensity of following them around, but they are not dependent. They enjoy receiving attention when you direct it their way, but if you're busy, they're content to simply observe your activities. Close a door on them, and they will patiently wait for you to realize your mistake and let them in. They aren't generally lapped cats, but they do enjoy being close to you.

The calm and lovely Persian is recognized for his dignified and submissive demeanor. She is a welcome addition to any home where she can enjoy sitting in a lap—certainly her rightful place—being petted by those who recognize her superior qualities.

Persians are loving, but they are quite picky. They focus their attention on family members and a few guests they believe they can trust. Loud settings are not for Persian cats; they are calm cats who like a tranquil household where nothing changes from day to day.
